Students arrived today for the first day of school. Members of the San Jacinto School Board and the District Office were on hand to meet and greet students arriving at Mountain View Alternative School Campus. Today was probably boring to some students as most teachers conduct the traditional briefing by teachers covering the classroom rules and behavior expectations. For teachers we know that this is important because if the classroom environment is not safe and orderly then no learning will take place. Five years ago I had an average of 14 students in my class and now the average is over 21 students and today I was surprised to see 26 12th graders in one single class. Today I shared information about the new math courses that are designed to help students become college and career ready. I have attached the power point presentation for student who may have missed these first two days of school. Students learned that their teacher had published a book entitled " Annapolis Creed."
